Foodomina is a Food vs Mold themed, Storyrich Sci-Fi RPG, with turn-based combat & bullet hell gameplay. Created by indie start-up team of 5, and co-founded by Irini Melas, Lumelli Studios; Foodomina is under early development, with a Steam Demo that released May 2025.

Project Experience

  • Directly managed departments, game design, sound engineering, score composition, and animation to produce a polished Steam demo with an engrossing narrative, characters, art style and soundtrack.

  • Constructed & enforced implementation of industry best practice methodology, allowing for an adaptable, collaborative team workflow that prevents new identified risks or conflicts.

  • Facilitated  and hosted 1-2 weekly virtual and physical stand-up meetings, establishing a culture of trust and efficiently delegating tasks to team.

  • Exhibited Foodomina at a plethora of major events including; The Game Expo 2024 & 2025, Avcon, and PAX Rising.

  • Designed & executed an interactive, brand identifying booth composition for exhibition events, including a merch collection, art books & decor. Generating over 400+ live players, over 230 merch sales & $3000+ in revenue.

  • Facilitated robust audience testing and quality assurance practices, interviewing and surveying over 50 playtesters throughout Foodomina's development, ensuring consistently optimised & bug-free exhibitions.

  • Directed narrative structure of a unique and original storyline, along with 8 dialogue transcript documents, Game Design Document, and Technical Design Document.

  • Conceptualized and designed 4 unique 2D environments & characters including, 85 pixel game animations and 5 animated cinematic illustrations.

The Story

In the galaxy Foodomina, where food-themed planets are populated by civilisations of personified food people- you play as Takoyaki and Tempura; two childhood friends and cosmos travellers. Traverse a galaxy filled with whimsy, glitter, and flavour, make food friends, and battle Mould People!


A galactic wide Mould invasion is underway. Takoyaki and Tempura must travel the galaxy, to unite the Food Planets and eradicate Mould Kind... despite knowing that Mould people were once food themselves. However, along their journey, they discover the unthinkable- a chance that Mould can be cured, shattering everything they believed. Will they stay committed to their mission of saving Foodomina or risk everything for another way?

EXHIBITION ART BOOK

  • Designed and composed using majority of Foodomina's pre-production conceptual work and designs; including additional exclusive content separate to the game demo. Physical books were included in exhibition and debut of Foodomina for consumers waiting to play our game, on-lookers and networking.
